What is the difference between a Radial Drill Machine and a Pillar Drill Machine?

A Radial Drill Machine features an adjustable radial arm allowing the spindle to move over a large area, making it ideal for drilling large and heavy industrial workpieces. A Pillar Drill Machine (also called a column drill) is more compact, rigid, and suitable for high-precision drilling in medium to small components. At Prakash Machines, we manufacture high-performance variants of both types.

To choose the best drilling equipment, consider these key factors:

  • Size and weight of your workpiece

  • Required hole diameter and depth capacity

  • Number of holes and production volume (light, medium, or heavy-duty load)

  • Material type (mild steel, cast iron, alloy steel, etc.) Our technical engineering team at Prakash Machines can help you select the most efficient and cost-effective model for your factory requirements.

Our Pillar Drilling Machines are available with a drilling capacity ranging from 13mm to 40mm. Our heavy-duty Radial Drilling Machines range from 25mm up to 75mm or more, depending on the specific model. Custom drilling capacities can also be engineered and manufactured upon request.
